Jennifer Aniston was born on February 11th, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, California. She grew up in a show business atmosphere. Her father, John Aniston, has played several roles in long running soap operas since the mid-60's and can currently be seen on "Days of Our Lives" as Victor Kiriakis. Her mother is Nancy Aniston, who is a former model and actress. In fact, even her god-father was none other than Kojak (Telly Savalas) himself.

Jennifer's parents divorced when she was nine. Although she spent some time in Greece (her father is of Greek decent), she spent the majority of her childhood in New York City and began acting at the age of eleven, when she joined the school drama club. She would later graduate from the New York High School Of Performing Arts (better known as the Fame school) in 1987. She also became a devoted artist who had one of her paintings displayed in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Upon graduating she found work in off-Broadway productions of "For Dear Life" and "Dancing on Checker's Grave" but after a few years of occasional theater work she decided to move to Hollywood. After an agent advised her to shed 30 pounds (which she did with the help of Nutri/System) did the actress find work in the television industry. She landed recurring roles in several short-lived series ("Ferris Beuler," "Molly," "The Edge" and "Muddling Through")and made guest appearances on longer-running shows.

In 1994 a pilot came along called "Friends Like These" and Jennifer was asked to audition for the role of Monica. She refused Monica's role but agreed to audition for the part of Rachel, the suburban princess turned coffee queen. She got the part and became a catapulted to hair stardom. Her modern long shag hair-do became all the rave and so did her character on "Friends."

Jennifer and her Friends have turned their TV fame into a lucrative film career. During her hiatus' from TV she has managed to involve herself in several films which have done moderately well at the box office, including "Picture Perfect" (1997) and "Object of My affection" (1998).

Although her TV and film career have kept her in the public eye, she has also gained paramount attention with the paparazzi because of her relationship with heart throb Brad Pitt. There has been numerous reports of marriage between the super couple but no rings have been exchanged yet.

Even though Jennifer's movie career is only a few years old she has a number of outstanding performances to her credit. We have also witnessed her TV character, Rachel, do a lot of growing up over the past five years. Only the writers know for sure where Rachel is headed but hopefully she'll be surrounded by her closest friends who will not only drive her crazy but lend a helping hand.
