This programme of study looks at the role of performance in communities of the future. Within the programme it provides opportunities to develop practical, critical and analytical skills in the performing arts, in order to understand and contribute to the range of contemporary performance practiced in today's world.
The module also builds on existing, well established work in drama, music, and dance were a wide range of practical work in physical theatre, musical improvisation, composition, choreography, and performance writing, as well as live, virtual and recorded art and comedy.

1997-2000: CHICKEN SHED THEATRE, CHASE SIDE, N14 DURATION 2 YEARS The BTEC National Diploma is equivalent to 3 A-Levels & can lead on to a career into TV, teaching or related work across the range of the creative industry. The aim for the company has always been to produce entertaining work.
ABOUT THE MODULES:
Drama:
1st year: Is combined with practical and written work for example dialect, pronunciations & tongue twisters. Researching different performances, Performing in various shows. Extensive teaching of stage placement i.e. (USL-Up Stage Left, UCS-Up Centre Stage, USR-Up Stage Right, CSL-Centre Stage Left, CS-centre stage, CSR-centre Stage Right, DSL-Down Stage Left, DCS-Down Centre Stage, DSR-Down Stage Right.
2nd year: Concentrates on 3 shows created by students & directed by teachers, also extensive research on each show and on others who have been influenced by them. Extensive essays are compiled based on the research found. And throughout the year each show is performed. Critiquing well established musicals on screen and in the theatre is required for the module for example Evita.
Dance:- looking at different choreographers for example Martha Graham and Doris Humphrey and the techniques they used and implementing them into routines. Intensive research on the body and how it functions.

Stage Craft: - Understanding the job of the DSM & assisting the DSM in an actual show. Being taught how to get-in and get-out and having hands on experience. Blocking scripts, making prop lists for up and running shows, creating rehearsal time sheets. Understanding the different types of microphones, sound and lighting equipment. And having a clear understanding on the different cables used.
