SARA RENEE HOWARD:
Sara was born on April 30, 1989 in Redding, California.
Sara has attended school her entire life in the Fall
River Valley approximately 70-miles northeast of Redding.
From a very young age it was apparent that her interest
in music and singing was more than a passing fancy.
She has been a member of the school choir since third
grade.
Her first experience on the stage came in the fourth
grade where she played a Lollipop Kid in the High
School production of The Wizard of Oz. This was her
first singing role as well. In the fifth grade she
had a large part in the school musical and in the
sixth grade she won the lead role in The Phantom of
the Opry. During this time she also took dance lessons
concentrating on Jazz and Tap. Sara also started to
get involved in cheerleading, soccer, softball and
4H.
Upon entering junior high school she started singing
at local events including high school football games,
Christmas presentations, weddings, and the local County
Fair. In the seventh grade she obtained a role in
the high school production of Annie. This was also
the fourth year in a row where Sara was a part of
a large dance production at the Redding Civic Auditorium.
That Summer her market lamb also got first place in
its weight class and Sara got first place in overall
showmanship. During the same fair she sang three songs
at the Queen Pageant as well as the National Anthem
at the Bull Riding Competition and at the Destruction
Derby.
In eighth grade she continued her activities of cheerleading,
and singing. Sara attended the Northern California
Honor Choir in Chico, California for the third year
in a row. This year was her third year of being a
member of the school band, where she plays the Clarinet.
She won the leading role in the High School production
of The Pirates of Penzance this year as well. Sara
was also allowed to sing a song at her eighth grade
promotion. This year has also been busy with voice
lessons, lambs, softball, babysitting and school.
She maintained Honor Roll status throughout her Junior
High School period. She also sang at the High School
Christmas program, the Community Christmas Program,
and at two weddings. During April she attended the
Band competition in San Jose.
Other interests include traveling, which she has done
extensively. Sara has been to France, Spain, Portugal,
North Africa, Canada, Mexico and Hawaii. She continues
her love of animals in the FFA this year and is raising
three market lambs. She is practicing her singing
everyday and hopes to sing at PacBell Park this summer.
