BIOGRAPHY

It didn't begin like most magicians when Jasen received his first magic set. It started when he was about four years old and realized that his uncle possessed an incredible ability to make objects vanish and reappear at will. Jasen wanted to obtain that power. It wasn't until Jasen was nearly twenty that he apprenticed with a local magician, and became a serious student of magic.

Since 1990 Jasen has accomplished the following; was selected out of over 400 competitors as the stage magician in the tri-state area for the Oreo cookie campaign "Unlock the Magic", featured on Fox-5 performing at several of New York's premier clubs, toured the east coast with a grand illusion show entitled "The Magic of Jasen Matthews", has utilized his
magical skills in plays and theaters, his hands have doubled for actors
performing sleight of hand on television infornercials, ranked 13 th in the world in the category of grand illusion, as well as providing private consultations and lectures for students of magic from the beginner to the seasoned professional.

Jasen is also an illusion designer and builder. He has created a vast array of illusions and effects for professional magicians. His latest endeavor is his "No Sleeves Tour" which features his metal sculpting act, where Jasen wields metal into life as a futuristic blacksmith in a world of man versus machine.

Jasen holds a dual membership to both the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians (founded by Harry Houdini). Jasen also earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science in 1992 from Western Connecticut State University.
